...will be in attendance to help cheer on more of our outstanding co-workers!!

Paul W, Kevin H, Claire C, Rod I and Karen W will be participating in the Banff Calgary Road Race on May 5 with another team from Calgary.

These fab five are going to help raise funds for the Philippine Playground Project for Renée and Jo's Big Overseas Adventure this August.

The team encourages anyone and everyone to make a donation, either online (PayPal link below) or through one of them directly.

It's such a great feeling that people are doing crazy road races in Canada to help people in a tiny village in the Philippines.

Right now they'll be going to school or fishing or just chilling by the sea, oblivious to the fact that people are taking so much pleasure (and pain!) in helping them.

But they'll find out how much we all care in August, when we built the best 'king playground EVER!! And every dollar will make such a huge difference.

17 FEBRUARY 2006 | The mountainside that towered 700m above the village of Guinsaugon collapsed from the crest of the top ridge and into the valley, building up incredible force, carrying large masses of mud, rocks and vegetation careening down into the valley. And underneath it all, after the slide calmed...an entire village had been obliterated, including a school, with 270 children attending classes. None of those children were found alive.

months have passed since the tragic mudslide
many people have been displaced
children feel lost
life is upside-down

However, survivors have been slowly piecing their lives together by building shelters, erecting temporary classrooms, planting and assuming a lifestyle that can befit their basic needs.
Local and international governmental agencies, military operations, organizations and numerous relief workers have assisted the survivors with a semblance of life post-disaster. A foundation has been forged. And with all things solid in their roots, must also come peace, clarity and a thirst for vitality.

The Philippine Playground Project [PPP] will help bring happiness, laughter and hopefully a calming sense of peace to an area eager to embrace their future.

A playground to be built from scratch for the tiny survivors in such a large world.
A garden as a setting for social interaction.
A monument of compassion and love...for the smiles, the tears and the memories - past and future.

This project needs your lovely selves to help out by contributing funds so we can all get over there, purchase equipment/supplies for the playground and park. We are a non-profit collective of like-minded individuals pooling their talent, depth and compassion into one little corner of the world.
