Jo and Renée's Big Overseas Adventure

17 FEBRUARY 2006 | The mountainside that towered 700m above the village of Guinsaugon collapsed from the crest of the top ridge and into the valley, building up incredible force, carrying large masses of mud, rocks and vegetation careening down into the valley. And underneath it all, after the slide calmed...an entire village had been obliterated, including a school, with 270 children attending classes. None of those children were found alive.

However, survivors have been slowly piecing their lives together by building shelters, erecting temporary classrooms, planting and assuming a lifestyle that can befit their basic needs.
Local and international governmental agencies, military operations, organizations and numerous relief workers have assisted the survivors with a semblance of life post-disaster. A foundation has been forged. And with all things solid in their roots, must also come peace, clarity and a thirst for vitality.

The Philippine Playground Project [PPP] will help bring happiness, laughter and hopefully a calming sense of peace to an area eager to embrace their future.

A playground to be built from scratch for the tiny survivors in such a large world.
A garden as a setting for social interaction.
A monument of compassion and love...for the smiles, the tears and the memories - past and future.
