from our co-workers...

Friday, December 22, 2006

"Six months ago, during the creation of our snack shop, we decided it would be a warming gesture for us to donate whatever profits made throughout the year to a deserving charity each holiday season. Tonight we sat [at work] not only determining how much we could afford to donate but who would be an appropriate recipient for the monetary gains fueled by some of our less than stellar eating habits. Several charities came to mind, World Vision, Make a Wish Foundation and the Mustard Seed, all very noble causes striving to make the world a better place for those less fortunate. After some discussion it was decided that supporting a local “grass roots” charity could benefit the most from our new found chocolate driven nest egg.

In the end, it was decided there is no better cause for us to support than one our own staff members are putting together. So without further a due, I would like to announce a $200.00 cash donation to Jo and Renée who are embarking on a trip to the Philippines in August of 2007 to help supply and build a playground for a local village caught in the recent mud slide. Not only does this support a great cause but it gets two of our delightfully “bent” ladies out of here and from wreaking havoc on us for at least a couple of weeks. Congratulations and we wish you all the best."
